Sporting Exercising 72-Hour Rule

Sacramento Sporting decided to exercise the "72-hour" rule to cancel this Sunday's game. One can only wonder if Sporting has a legitimate reason for canceling the game. The fact that Sporting can pull up players from Sporting II to play in the game makes their decision to cancel even more suspicious. The disturbing pattern of teams only playing games when they "feel" like it will predictably lead to an even longer CCSL season. At this rate, the problem of attempting to cram a ridiculous amount of games in two weeks may occur again this season. Hopefully, CCSL officials will avoid the re-scheduling issues that forced Real to play games without key personnel because of scheduling conflicts with the NPSL. The cancellation of games in this fashion may make it difficult for the CCSL to finish the season. Would Sporting or Aguias PSC have exercised the "72-hour" rule if they were playing any other team besides Real San Juan?
