RSJ Stunned by Last Place Titanes

In what was an upset-filled weekend, Real San Juan was stunned by last place Titanes in Woodland Sunday. With the recent additions of veteran CCSL players Ramon Ortega, Jaime Garcia and "Man of the Match" Juan Solorio, Titanes pulled off a 1 - 0 upset of the three time CCSL Champions. Titanes began the game with several quality opportunities that forced San Juan 'keeper Conor McNulty to make some quick reflex saves. San Juan responded by establishing width with dangerous runs down the flanks by Ralph Cazel and Chris Gaschen. The Titanes 'keeper denied several shots by San Juan forwards Ryan Rhoads and Patrick Nelle. The game-winner came in the first half when Juan Solorio struck a bouncing ball from about 35 yards that swerved and dipped below the crossbar to beat San Juan 'keeper McNulty. The San Juan offense created many scoring opportunities, but the Titanes 'keeper made save after save to preserve the clean sheet. With this defeat, San Juan missed an opportunity to extend their lead over AC Cruz Azul and Academica who also lost Sunday. Next up for San Juan is the always tough Aguias PSC 2:00 at Southside Park.
