Real Moves into First (Click to Read More)
With Aguias PSC idle Sunday, Real's 3 - 0 defeat of San Jose moves RSJ into first place going into the holiday break. San Jose's "10 men behind the ball" strategy proved tough to break down in the first half. Former Real forward Carlos Ventura made several dangerous runs in the counter attack for San Jose. Real missed several quality opportunities to take the lead and the score remained tied at zero at halftime. Real's hard work was finally rewarded in the sixty-sixth minute when Sean Buchanan sprung Pat Nelle on the left side with a perfect pass into the seam. Nelle calmly slotted the ball for Real's first goal. Sean Buchanan assisted the second goal when he found Chad Bartlome at the top left side of the box. Bartlome drilled the shot past the keeper. Jimmy Frazelle score the third Real goal when he converted a penalty kick called for a hand ball in the box. Real is now is sole possesion of first place just one point ahead of Aguias PSC. Real's next game will be in Escalon versus the California Lions on January 8th.
Happy Holiday from Real San Juan!
