Real Earns Big Win in Turlock Once again, Real finds a way to win and take three points in Turlock against Academica. Despite going to Turlock with 10 field players and no goal keeper, Real worked extremely hard and managed to play a very good game versus a revamped Academica team who was showcasing it's recent college player acquisitions. Real took the early lead when Chad Bartlome played a ball back to Curtis Holmes who shot a low blazing shot past the Academica keeper from 20 yards out. Academica responded within minutes as they counter attacked and scored on a breakaway. The game was deadlocked with both sides having random opportunities including two penalty kicks that were blocked by the Academica keeper to keep the game even. With five minutes to go, Pat Nelle gave Real the victory by scoring an unassisted goal from a left footed shot which sailed over the keeper and into the side netting from 25 yards out. Real's solid defense anchored by Marcos Mercado was able to hold on to the lead and seal the victory.
