Real Defeats Premier Newcomers Lincoln 4 - 0
Real San Juan displayed its depth with a clinical 4 - 0 defeat of Lincoln last Sunday, December 3rd. Despite several Real players out with injuries or sickness, Real played with energy and consistency throughout the match. Todd Simmons set the tone in the opening minutes of the match when he buried a poorly cleared corner kick into the back of the net to put Real up 1 - 0.

Real took a 2 - 0 lead when Ryan Rhoads found Alvaro Delgado on the left side of the Lincoln penalty box. Delgado's shot took a favorable "Southside hop" and evaded the Lincoln goalkeeper's outstretched arms. Real took a 2 - 0 lead into the half time break.
With only two substitutes available, key defenders Marcos Mercado and Kenyon Hill required time on the sideline for minor injuries. Todd Simmons and Tim Bystrowski moved back from the midfield to join Travis Ryan, Brent Hamilton and Conor McNulty to help preserve Real's fifth clean sheet of the season. Real increased the lead to 3 - 0 when Todd Simmons blasted another miscleared ball off of a Real corner past the Lincoln goalkeeper. The fourth and final goal came when second half substitute Anthony "Mario" Chimienti intercepted a Lincoln goal kick, raced past the Lincoln defenders to the right side of the penalty box and hit a rocket into the left side of the goal. Up next for Real is the always tough Aguias PSC. Despite a slow start to the season, Aguias PSC looks to be in good form with a convincing 3 - 0 victory over Dixon Leon last week. The game is scheduled for 12:00 PM at Southside Park on December 10th.
